Weekend Recap: Son-uva Digger Continues Summer Dominance in Nashville

Authored by Monster Jam on June 24, 2024

Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger) has won all three Overall Event Championships he has competed in since Monster Jam World Finals XXIII, while Matt Cody (Grave Digger) swept the weekend in Dresden, Germany.

Nashville, TN – Nissan Stadium

Twelve of Monster Jam’s best hit the Nissan Stadium in Saturday night and, while plenty of the drivers delivered crowd-pleasing runs, it was Ryan Anderson who took home 35 of a possible 36 points from the event. He kicked things off by winning the JCB Racing final up against his brother Adam Anderson (Grave Digger). Ryan then backed up that success with a spectacular bicycle-into-moonwalk during the Great Clips Skills Challenge:

Dresden, Germany – Rudolf-Harbig Stadion

Eight Monster Jam athletes competed in two events throughout the weekend in Dresden, Germany, with Matt Cody taking the Overall Event Championship at both Saturday and Sunday events.

Cody kicked things off by defeating Blake Granger (Max-D) in the JCB Racing Final on Saturday. He finished runner-up to Bernard Lyght (The Amazing Spider-Man) in the Skills Challenge. Bari Musawwir (Black Panther) won Freestyle and, while Cody was only sixth in that competition, it was still enough for the Overall.

Things got tighter on Sunday with Granger defeating Peter Nyman (El Toro Loco) in the Racing Final and then Charlie Pauken (Megalodon) winning the Skills Challenge, giving Pauken the edge going into Freestyle.

However, Cody took the Freestyle win when it mattered, giving Team Grave Digger the weekend sweep:
