Cynthia Gauthier is Back

Authored by Scott Jordan on June 13, 2024

Back on June 1, Monster Jam roared into MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, with a lot of hype surrounding the competition debut of Kayla Blood’s Sparkle Smash, and rightfully so. But there was also a lot of fanfare regarding the return of another female superstar: Cynthia Gauthier.

Back in October, Cynthia had the Monster Jam community buzzing when she announced on Instagram and “Inside Monster Jam” that she was taking the season off to expand her family as Linsey Read strapped into Lucas Stabilizer. Hats off to Linsey for admirably taking the reins of Lucas Stabilizer, capping off her season, and possibly her career, with an epic Freestyle win in Foxborough.

Speaking with Cynthia this week, the 2019 World Finals High Jump Champion said she was nervous to be back in the truck after such a long layoff, but muscle memory took over and that nervousness quickly turned to excitement as she hit the track for the first time in 2024.

She gushed about the fans welcoming her back with open arms and mentioned that some even made signs for her grand return. Cynthia also talked about the challenges she faced with some of the changes inside the truck, as well as not having her usual crew chief (she raved about Matt btw) but was confident that over the next few weeks they will get everything dialed in and she will get back to going big and delivering those “Wow Moments” that Monster Jam fans have grown to expect from her.

Now that she’s a mom, don’t expect her driving style to change as she is still a fierce competitor who is ready to compete for a series championship next year. Be on the lookout for Lucas Stabilizer at a Monster Jam event near you this summer and get ready for Cynthia Gauthier to be back to her high-flying Freestyle ways with a big year in 2025.

You can watch my conversation with Cynthia on “Inside Monster Jam” Saturday night July 13 at 9 p.m. ET on MAVTV!
