Long before he got a chance to get into the seat, Cole Venard had established himself in the world of Monster Jam. The long-time crew member started competing as a driver in 2015 when he filled in for Adam Anderson in Orlando. Venard raced at Ocala that year, which led to a full-time position driving for Team Grave Digger the following year. He won his tour championship in his first season and backed it up by winning again in 2017. Venard competes with a prosthetic leg, serving as an inspiration for fans around the globe. He was the 2022 Stadium Freestyle Award winner.

What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?
Riding motorcycles and working on old cars and trucks.
Who are your role models?
My father.
What’s something a lot of people don’t know about you?
I have a prosthetics leg.
What is your favorite memory on or off the racetrack?
Winning the Triple Threat Series in 2016 and 2017 and competing at Monster Jam World Finals in 2016.
What is your most prized possession?
My baby girl.

What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
Best thing is being able to travel and see the world. The worst is being away from my family for so long.
While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
I like to go see sight-seeing.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Anywhere that’s warm!

How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
I started in Monster Jam as a mechanic and worked my way up to being a driver.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
The Monster Jam fans are the best in the world.
How would you describe your driving style?
Like a bumblebee stuck in a fish bowl.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Start out on a quad or a RZR to get the feel of four wheels.
What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?
Driving for Adam Anderson in Grave Digger the Legend.
Who in Monster Jam do you look up to for inspiration?
I have looked up to so many over the years. Everyone has a different style and way about things. I like to take a little from everyone and learn from it.
